Welcome to a 'Month of Murder Mysteries'!

Over four classes, students will get the opportunity to solve four different murder mysteries. This is to encourage students to use their critical thinking and oral presentation skills.

In each of these murder mysteries, each student will be assigned the role of one of the six characters. You will become a part of the investigation team to determine which one of you is not as innocent as you are letting on. You will be given a character description, a script, and a secret that hopefully, no one brings up! Students will work together and independently to critically assess each character's motive, means, and opportunity.

Students should be comfortable reading in front of a small group. Each student will be given 15-20 lines, along with a short paragraph introduction which they will read in front of the class. Students will be encouraged to have their cameras on and be prepared to engage with one another as their script will be what guides the story. On the day prior to each class (unless students enroll the day of), students will receive a message on Outschool with a document containing their character description, introduction, lines, and their secret. Students will also be provided with a graphic organizer to help them organize the clues they discover. Students are required to be in class on time.

There are four classes that are a part of this course and each week is an individual murder mystery (not connected to the previous weeks). See the syllabus for the individual themes. In each class, there will be three rounds, each round contains script lines and the opportunity for students to guess who they think the murderer is. Full instructions will be provided in the first class.

Please note the class will only run with a minimum of five students to ensure that students are given the best experience.
