In this fun and interactive one-time course, students will learn breathing techniques and self-talk to help them relax when they're feeling anxious. We will read "A Little Spot of Anxiety," by Diane Alber, and discuss the story. The story contains a poem and breathing technique that will support learners in relaxing their mind and body. We will practice that and discuss that it's okay to be anxious. We will practice identifying how our bodies feel when anxious. Anxiety is a normal emotion, but one we must control in order to make good decisions, and feel relaxed.
Learning Goals
Students will improve their ability to manage anxiety.
