Class Experience

US Grade Preschool - Kindergarten
Is your child ready to learn the alphabet? Let’s start with the letter A. In this class your child will have fun exploring different ways to make the letter A. They will learn the sound the letter A makes through songs and poems. They will learn beginning reading skills as we discuss what words start with the letter A. A is for apples. Students will help me to tell a story about an apple tree and some pesky animals! During this class, students will be introduced to a simple math graph. I will incorporate science by discussing how an apple grows from a seed. Come explore the world with me!

Hello! My name is Amy Kent. I have been teaching children for nearly my entire life. I love helping children grow to love learning about the world! I am excited to teach classes to young learners to get them ready for school. I enjoy working with children of all ages. I love to read and look forward to hosting a book club for young learners.
I graduated from Southern Utah University. I earned a double major in elementary education and special education. I have a minor in child development. I have over 20 years experience. My first job was teaching Kindergarten. I incorporated reading, math, and science into my lessons. Not only did they learn their ABC's, but they were introduced to a variety of topics including gravity and space! My next experience was organizing and teaching a neighborhood preschool. I have worked with the children K-12 as a substitute teacher and online. I also volunteered at the local elementary school to help students improve their reading skills. I teach ESL online and I have my TESOL certificate. I have taught children cooking, sewing, and craft classes in our local 4-H program. I enjoy working with all age groups. I just love teaching!
I live in a small town. I have a great husband and five wonderful children. I love teaching, reading, children, crafts and exploring. I like to hike, swim and see new places with my family. I look forward to teaching your child in the classroom.
