In this 3 week class, we will go over French vocabulary for the Canadian tradition of maple syrup and "la cabane à sucre". We will be playing a fun bingo game and coloring a sugar bush image. After learning about the tasty food we eat at "la cabane à sucre", we will draw the foods we would like to try and even draw a creative label for a maple syrup jar! I encourage each child to share their works of art with the class, using the French vocabulary they learn in class. I use the sandwich technique for learning French. The vocabulary will be presented in French, then I say the English word, and then I repeat in French once again, making this class twice as much French than English for better retention. Here is the list of activities for this class: First class: Coloring page and vocabulary with a friendly game of bingo Second class: Draw food on a plate while reviewing vocabulary with a friendly game of bingo Third class: Create your own maple syrup label with a friendly game of bingo Bingo game is for fun and for practicing vocabulary only and no prizes will be awarded for winners.
