Beginning our class with introductions and an affirmation to set the tone for our learning environment. We then will move into introducing our learning objectives and key points of the lesson. I hold 2 degrees. One in Africana/Black Studies and one in Social Sciences. I am currently enrolled in a masters program for African Studies with a minor in Education. I also homeschool my own children and create all of their history/social studies content.
A PDF copy of slide for each lesson as well as a work sheet file will be provided for learners but is not required

This class entails an exploration of historical and contemporary forms of governance, with a particular focus on democratic systems. Democracy is a governance structure where power is distributed among the people through elected representatives. Throughout this course, your child will have the chance to delve into the principles, evolution, and practical applications of democratic governance. Throughout the study, your child will encounter insights into the structure, characteristics, and impacts of various democratic systems worldwide. They will have the opportunity to examine the historical context, cultural influences, and the potential benefits and challenges associated with democratic governance models. We will be utilize the platform YouTube in viewing only as in I the instructor will play researched and age appropriate videos (max 3 videos' @ 5-8 mins each) that relate to and reiterate our learning objectives & informational slides.
