Class Experience

Students will utilize problem solving skills as they navigate their way through a mystery in the largest fantasy city in the Forgotten Realms. A treasure of gold, brought into the city and then forgotten- impossible! Is it? Its a race to find it first, between our heroes and a villainous organization that will certainly use the gold to evil ends. This will require puzzle solving! Combat! A bit of luck, and above all- bravery!
There will be no in-between class homework. If a student cannot make a session, the story will advance, and the player caught up events before jumping in the next time we meet.
No supplies are needed, but if the student has books, dice, character sheets, etc, I will show them how to make best use of those tools.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
There is no assessment.
1 hour 30 minutes per week in class, and no time outside of class.
There will be depictions of fantasy combat and of monsters. This is presented in a manner and tone that is somewhat like a "superhero movie."
This book will make use of the standard rules for D&D 5th edition. This can be acquired via the free basic rules on their website, through the Starter Set or Essentials Kit, or through the Player's Handbook.

I will provide resources via dndbeyond to all players and will invite them to the campaign prior to the first day of class.

dndbeyond and accounts will be needed. These accounts have free tiers of membership, no additional costs need be incurred!

The free Google Chrome extension Beyond20 is recommended. This sends virtual dice rolls and calculations from dndbeyond to Roll20 and speeds up gameplay.
