Students should know their letter sounds. In this 4 day multi-day class, students are supported by their teacher to make a variety of words using only the letters in the "secret word" for that lesson. Students will try and guess the big beach theme word each class. Making Words lessons are hands-on and minds-on activities. The learners gain an understanding of how our spelling and language system work. Making Words can help all beginning readers and readers who have not yet acquired...
Students will improve their knowledge of phonic sounds & spelling patterns.
Students may cut out the printed letter squares at the top of the page OR use their own letter tiles. There is a word building page for each days class that will need to be printed. Pencil to write the words.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Informal assessment while the student is in the class.
2 hours per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
