US Grade 1 - 3
In this one-time class, we will take a dangerous trip around the world! We will learn about some of the most extreme places on the planet, exploring both geography and science in each location. We will visit each continent - from earthquakes in California to the dangers of Mount Everest! We will cover a quick scientific explanation of natural phenomena such as tornadoes and lightning storms and look at the biology of fearful creatures like sharks and jellyfish. This class is taught through a slideshow and discussion. Learners are encouraged (but not required) to join in the conversation. The slides have minimal written content and this class is suitable for children who do not read yet. However, some of these topics may be scary to younger learners, so please ensure your learner is interested and ready for these topics!
