This class will cover A Christmas Carol reading comprehension questions and full discussion. There will be games, slides, and video clips to keep learners engaged and having fun! While learners do not need to have any prior experience, it is expected that students can read and complete assignments during the week. This is a more advanced version of A Christmas Carol novel study, so it is best if your student enjoys a challenge. Vocabulary, reading outside of class, and additional activities will be required for this class. If this seems too much, no worries. I offer a standard curriculum for this novel which incorporates the US standards for 7-9th graders. While this class does offer a lot of material, the certificate will be focused on the required material for the class, which includes reading, writing, vocabulary development, figurative language, and grammar. Make no mistake, this is a challenging curriculum. Each chapter will have a vocabulary practice and quiz, reading comprehension discussions in class, figurative language practice, and video clips to introduce the chapter as we read it together. Don't forget about adding creativity to the class! What's learning without a little fun and creativity? While these options are not required, they have proven to aid in contextualizing the information in a fun and creative way. Activity options include but are not limited to: poetry creative writing illustrations creating a song or rap constructing a model of a scene in the chapter or novel Week 1: Pre-reading activities Research the author Historical Connections to the Author Time Period Vocabulary for Stage 1 Reading Stage 1 End of Stage 1 quiz (vocabulary and reading comprehension) Homework and reading assignments Quiz Week 2: Stage 2 Vocabulary Previewing the reading comprehension questions Read Stage 2 Quiz Week 3: Stage 3 Vocabulary Previewing the reading comprehension questions Read Stage Quiz Week 4: Stage 4 Vocabulary Previewing the reading comprehension questions Read Stage 4 Quiz Week 5: Stage 5 Vocabulary Previewing the reading comprehension questions Read Stage 5 Quiz Week 6: Play Vocabulary Practice and Quiz Review Reading Comprehension for all Stages Creative End Project Presentations End of Novel Quiz Wow, that's a lot, but I promise it will be challenging and fun!
