Katie, the Candy Cane Fairy, and her sisters have some extra-special candy canes with magical stripes. One day, those stripes disappear! Oh no, what happened? Where did the stripes go? Will the mystery be solved?

US Grade Pre-Kindergarten - 1
*The student will work on story retelling.
*The student will make predictions.
*The student will practice good listening skills.
*The student will engage in conversation.
*The student will engage in an art project.
*I am an experienced elementary reading teacher and have a great love for children’s literature and being able to incorporate books into all subject areas. I want my students to be excited about reading/writing and I feel that my passion comes thru in each story I tell!
*white or red pipe cleaner (can have more pipe cleaners if you want to make more candy canes)
*white and red plastic round beads
*ribbon 1/4 inch wide
*glue
*a candy cane to eat during the story
*fairy attire but not required
EXPERIMENT: 4 clear glasses or jars, 4 candy canes, vinegar, oil, warm and cold water to put in each jar
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Parental guidance may be needed when working with the pipe cleaner and making sure the beads on the end are secure. Also, we will be doing an experiment that involves vinegar, oil, warm and cold water in jars/glasses.
