US Grade Pre-Kindergarten - 1
In this one-time class, the students will listen to and enjoy a story about Katie and her sisters who all star in an amazing show brought to life by their extra-special candy canes. One year, just days before the show, the canes’ magical stripes disappear. What will the fairies do as they fear the show will become a disaster! We will follow the fairy sisters as they try to solve the problem. The students will make predictions, practice good listening skills, and respond to questions in story...

*I am an experienced elementary reading teacher and have a great love for children’s literature and being able to incorporate books into all subject areas. I want my students to be excited about reading/writing and I feel that my passion comes thru in each story I tell!
*white or red pipe cleaner (can have more pipe cleaners if you want to make more candy canes) *white and red plastic round beads *ribbon 1/4 inch wide *glue *a candy cane to eat during the story *fairy attire but not required EXPERIMENT: 4 clear glasses or jars, 4 candy canes, vinegar, oil, warm and cold water to put in each jar
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Parental guidance may be needed when working with the pipe cleaner and making sure the beads on the end are secure. Also, we will be doing an experiment that involves vinegar, oil, warm and cold water in jars/glasses.
