2-4 hours per week. Each week, students will receive a reading assignment and an assignment to complete via Google forms to demonstrate and they did read and understood the topic discussed in class.Letter Grade

Harry Potter's life is miserable. His parents are dead and he's stuck with his heartless relatives, who force him to live in a tiny closet under the stairs. But his fortune changes when he receives a letter that tells him the truth about himself: he's a wizard. A mysterious visitor rescues him from his relatives and takes him to his new home, Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. In this class we will start the Harry Potter series with Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. We will also learn about a different element of literature each week, which will help students become better critical readers. We will do an activity each week to practice that week's skill and then tie it into our reading that week. Students will have an independent reading assignment each week consisting of 3 chapters of the book. They will also complete a short assignment to show that they did the the reading and understand the element of literature we discussed in class. The time required will vary depending on how fast your learner reads, but I recommend spending about half an hour a day on their reading/assignment, or 2.5 hours per week. At the end of the course, each student will complete a project and present it. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone is recommended for 5th - 6th grade reading levels. Learning Needs
This class is designed to support learners with ADHD! I provide worksheets to help learners follow along, as well as providing instruction with audio and visuals to keep them engaged.
Parental Guidance
Harry Potter does contain themes of good vs evil and could be scary for more sensitive learners.
