In this one time voice and ear training lesson, students will learn three solfege notes, learn a basic vocal technique, use their bodies to feel rhythm and learn to sing the folk song “Chicka Hanka.”
Class experience
In this one time voice lesson, students will be introduced to solfege (solfa) and will begin with syllables "sol, mi, and la" They will then learn the hand signs for these notes. They will sing "call and response" phrases and then apply their knowledge of these three notes to "Rain, Rain, Go Away." Students will learn where these three notes are on the staff and play games using the hand signs they have learned. Students will be introduced to the concept of "belly breathing" and will march...
Students can demonstrate knowledge of hand signs and staff placement (key of F) for "sol, mi, and la" Students be able to describe "beat" and "tempo." Students will be able to sing "Chicka Hanka."
