I'm a board-certified teacher with over a decade of teaching experience in wide variety of age groups, K-12 and first year university. For the past eight years, I've focused on teaching multimedia, theatre, photography, film and journalism to a wide range of age groups. I am also a published writer, with 20 years of experience in written and broadcast journalism, including newspapers, magazines, radio and online video formats. I have written articles that have been translated into three languages (besides English) with reprints in the millions. I've created and hosted three radio shows with listener bases in the tens of thousands. In the past, I have also been involved in the imagining, creation, management and hosting of three YouTube channels, one of which currently has over 50 thousand subscribers with videos numbering over a million views. Currently, I work as a special education consultant and online teacher, and I like to take a "universal design for learning" approach to my classes, making them accessible to learners with a wide range of learning styles. I believe video is a fantastic medium for students to express themselves while learning valuable skill sets that are foundational to developing their passions and interests. YouTube, with its widespread popularity, is a particularly good place for this kind of growth.

I am passionate about communication - videography, creative writing and poetry, non-violent communication, journalism and social skills training are all high on my list. I am a published author and journalist and have also worked both as a...
