Martial arts has been taught for centuries, however, we are in the age where it can now be taught at the comfort of home. Students will learn how to progress from orange belt to purple in this class. Blocks, punches, kicks, forms and more are taught through this 5 week course to prepare them for more to come. How far can a student go? Martial arts is all about defense. We talk about striking and how this can effect another person. We also targets such as the groin, or private area will be named as such in discussion. Through my 35 years of martial arts, I have been invovled in tournaments, demonstrations, testing other students and have operated a dojo for over 25 years. In addition, I am a 3rd grade school teacher with a degree in special education.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Please make sure that the student has an open workout space (a 6ft by 6ft area), proper footwear (barefoot or socks that have grips on the bottom), a water bottle if needed, and stretching before the class is recommended. As in any physical activity, there is a risk for injury. Please make sure parents are present to observe their child during this activity for their safety.
I will be referring to a number of youtube videos that I will send over the classroom for all students so they can review specific material.
