In this 4-week, twice a week class, students will learn and practice Explanatory Writing: Problem & Solution through lecture, guided discussion, and group and individual practice. Students will understand the process for writing a multi-paragraph problem & solution explanatory essay and will write one independently at the end of class for a writing score and feedback.
I am a certified secondary English teach with a BA and MA in English. I have tutored collegiate academic writing since 2000. I have also tutored AP Language, AP Literature, Human Geography, AP World History, AP US History, and AP Government/Econ. for over 10 years. I have also tutored ACT English and ACT Reading for several years. The materials that we use is content that I have gathered and used with all my face-to-face students.
Homework Offered
Any writing or assignments not completed in class will be completed and submitted before the following class session.1 - 2 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
Students will receive a participation scores for each class session. Students will receive a rubric score and feedback for their final writing project.Grades Offered
