Our class will begin with a 10-minute. the lecture includes either ppt slides, video clips, or online games (a video that can be from 3-8 minutes). The video visually shows the students different vocabulary or principles that the course requires them to learn. I do attempt to incorporate a quick lab that requires household materials. I will have students bring supplies and I will direct them through it.

In the last few minutes of the class, we reviewed the material we would have learned that day and open the floor for any quick questions. After class, students are assigned the following week's homework.

Students will use an online textbook that is free of charge.

Students do have the option to ask further inquiries through the Outschool classroom. Please note that I will do my best to answer them each evening of the day (Central Time). I cannot be on call for 24 hours. Your patience and understanding are appreciated.

My class rules:

Listen to the Teacher.
No talking while Teacher Pat speaks.
If you want to ask or answer a question; please raise your hand.
Speak when your name is called.
I do prefer video cameras ON throughout class time; without backgrounds.
Limit chat room discussions.
Enjoy learning!

I appeal to learning through audio, visual, and manipulative methods. This technique of appealing to the senses helps students retain the material.

Students do not need any prior knowledge to take this course. Also, students will be assessed orally during each class session over homework assigned.

Students are orally assessed and graded on the completion of homework assignments. The teacher will ask students various questions to see if they retained the information to be studied before each lesson. Homework is reviewed during class, so students must complete the assignments to participate in class discussions. Homework must be uploaded or emailed to the instructor as having been recorded.

Disclaimer:

There are no written exams. Students are evaluated by homework that is submitted and through oral discussion.

If a parent needs a letter grade at the end of completion, I will gladly assess them.

Parental Guidance
I do use Youtube to help students further understand the material. Please note that there may be some ads that I have no control over.
Supply List
Students will need a notebook, compass (that draws circles), paper, pencil, colored pencils, or markers. Please have plenty of printer ink on hand so that handouts may be printed. There may be one or two sheets a week that need to be printed.

Lab supplies will be listed on a weekly basis prior to class. Most lab supplies can be found in the home. If there is something that needs to be purchased and cannot be found due to current situations, students may just observe. I do my best to offer substitutes so that all students can do the lab.
