Class Experience
This semester long, flexible course will cover the 8th Grade Math Common Core Standards. Topics will include the following: January: Data Analysis & Displays February: Functions March: Integer Exponents and Scientific Notation April: Irrational Numbers and the Pythagorean Theorem 8th Grade Math Curriculum Part 1 will cover the first half of the 8th grade concepts from September-January Due to the fact that this is flexible course, students who are already taking 8th grade math can enroll...
Students will have homework assigned to them every week. They will have several options to choose from which will include solving real world problems, creating a presentation to teach the concept or a traditional worksheet. Homework should take no more than 45 minutes every week.
Notebook/pencil Google classroom
Students will have several assessments throughout the course. There will be short quizzes, quick checks, and tests given throughout each unit along with the weekly assignments.
No live meetings, and an estimated 2 - 4 hours per week outside of class.
