In section 2 of this 4 part class, students will learn to write systems of linear equations, compare linear and nonlinear functions, and learn domain and range of a function.

Description

Class Experience

This course is designed to go through all of the 8th Grade Common Core Math Standards in a year. To make it easier on parents, I have divided the course into 4 sections. This is section 2 of 4.

In this full year class, students will learn the following:
 
The Number System- Approximate Real Numbers; Perform Real Number Operations
Expressions and Equations- Use Radicals and Integer Exponents; Connect Proportional Relationships and Lines; Solve Systems of Equations
Functions- Define, Evaluate,...

Students will learn to define, evaluate, and compare functions as well as model relationships using graphs.

I have a Bachelor's degree from Arkansas State University in Mid-Level Education with an emphasis in Math and Science.

One practice sheet will be given as homework after each class. We will review the homework sheet at the beginning of each class.

Quizzes will be given throughout each session and send to you. If a final grade is desired, please let me know and I will get you an official grade for each session.

2 hours 45 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.

Some of the material I will be using comes from the "Big Ideas 8th Grade Math" book. I used this to teach in my B&M class.  The majority of the material given to students will have been created by me.
