This Q3 course is what your child needs to master skills learned through part of 8th grade math. This course can be used as a supplement or on its own as a guide. Class will meet from Monday - Thursday. Students will begin each lesson with an introduction of the topic being discussed for that day. Students will always take notes on the topic being presented. Students will then work on guided practice examples as a class to address any misconceptions. Students will then work on independent practice examples to assess their learning. Students will have access to the worksheets and material being covered that week on the weekend prior to each week. Students are encouraged to keep a journal for notes and to print out the worksheets before the Monday of each week. Here is an overview of what topics will be covered during the 20 day course. Week 1: Intro to Pythagorean Theorem Pythagorean Theorem Word Problems Pythagorean Missing Values Distance using the Pythagorean Theorem Week 2: Pythagorean Kahoot Volume of Cylinders Volume of Cones Volume of Spheres Week 3: Volume with Missing Values Volume Word Problems Volume review games Week 4: Area, Lateral and Total Surface Area Lateral and Total Surface Area Cylinders Lateral and Total Area Word Problems Surface Area review games Week 5: Bivariate Trend Lines Bivariate Part II Scatter Plots Linear & Non-Linear Review Day

Parental Guidance
We might be playing Jeopardy math games or Kahoot games but students do not need to create an account to be able to participate in them
Supply List
A notebook, pencils, if possible colored pens and highlighters. The weekly assignments will be attached before the start of a week.
