Class Experience

This course is designed to help a student master basic beginner sewing skills needed to be confident to use a sewing machine and sew simple sewing projects.
If students do not complete a task in class, they will be expected to complete that task outside of class. Students should start feeling comfortable by the 3 week to complete simple tasks on their own if they run out of time or to just practice skills on their own time.
A working sewing machine (not a mini) Seam ripper Pins Fabric scissors Fabrics for projects (I will go over this in class or you can message me) Thread Printer (to print patterns) Tape Iron and Ironing board Plain white rice Polyester fiber fill 1 9" coil zipper Hand sewing needle Interfacing (light or medium weight, I will go over this in class)
2 hours per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
Students must be able to handle using sharp objects like scissors, pins, seams rippers and needles. Your student must be able to understand how to follow safety guidelines to protect themself.
