Description
Class Experience
Students will be able to perform operations with real numbers with accuracy, solve problems involving the order of operations and proportionality.
BA Interdisciplinary Studies K-8 Texas Certified Educator - Core Subjects EC-6 - Core Subjects 4-8 - ESL Supplemental K-8
Students will be given homework for each new skill.
Paper, Pencil Optional: Notebook, highlighters, colored pencils, page protector (clear sleeve), dry erase markers
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
Students will be assessed based on their participation and performance in class and any submitted homework
2 hours 30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
Additional Resources Used: YouTube, Kahoot, NearPod, IXL ,and Prodigy Math. Accounts are not required for YouTube, Kahoot, IXL or NearPod. YouTube videos will be embedded in the classroom on the Outschool platform. There will be no need for students to access the YouTube site. Prodigy math requires a created log-in to track student learning. A class code will be provided to learners. Prodigy Math is NOT required for this class. It does provide additional practice of math skills in a gamified manner and allows teachers and parents to see skill area strengths and struggles. NearPod and Kahoot will be used in class as a screen share and outside of class for independent work. Khan Academy can be used without a user log-in; however, if a parent chooses, learner progress can be checked. This site may be utilized for homework and independent practice outside of class.
