Description
Class Experience
Students will show mastery of the topics listed in the Class Experience section.
Two weekly homework assignments and one project per unit Homework and the project are optional but strongly encouraged. I will provide thorough feedback for all assignments turned it to me. Also, keep an eye out in the classroom for extra practice, puzzles, challenge questions, or riddles that will enhance and enrich student learning. Students should expect to spend 1 - 2 hours outside of class time on homework and the project.
Students will be provided with notes each week. Please have the note pages printed and ready before class begins. Homework assignments will be posted after each class session. Students will need: • Pencils and the print out of the notes (or a notebook) to take notes and work out problems given in class • A simple, four-function calculator; I prefer that students have a handheld calculator rather than using one on the device that they are using for Zoom • A second device, such as smart phone or tablet, would be helpful but is not required. It may be easier to use this second device for the review games that we may play such as Kahoot. If not using a second device, students will need to know how to switch between tabs or split their screen.
Throughout each class, I will informally assess students' knowledge of the covered topics and adjust instruction to meet their needs. Feedback will be provided for all homework assignments and the project. Grades will be provided upon request.
2 hours per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
