7th Grade Math Curriculum: Semester 2 (Part 1)

This semester-long course will cover the 7th Grade Common Core Standards. This is a great opportunity for students to get additional help after school or for homeschooled students to get math instruction for the year.

Class Experience

This 8 week course will cover the 7th Grade Math Common Core Standards. The following topics will include the following:

Unit 6: Percents
Week 1: Fractions, Decimals, and Percents
Week 2: Percent Proportions and Equations
Week 3: Simple Interest
Week 4: Review & Test

Unit 7: Probability
Week 5: Probability
Week 6: Experimental and Theoretical Probability
Week 7: Compound Events and Simulations
Week 8: Review and Test

Students who are already taking 7th-grade math can enroll for additional support and practice. Homeschooled students can enroll for a complete 7th-grade math curriculum. 

The weekly schedule will include the following:
Monday: Live lesson with exposure and instruction of the concept. Students will be given the assignment to complete by Thursday.
Tuesday & Wednesday: Students will work on their assignments on their own. They can message me for additional assistance during this time.
Thursday: Live lesson where students will turn in their assignments. Additional practice of the concept will be provided or a new lesson will begin.

Daily Lessons Include:
Entry Ticket: Students will work on prior learned concepts while students are joining.
Homework Review: As a class, students will grade their own homework while I model the solutions.
Lesson: Students will participate in the interactive math lesson.
Exit Ticket: Students will complete an exit ticket to show their understanding of the lesson.
Homework: Students will be given a homework assignment to practice the new skill. 

These math lessons will integrate real-world and engaging topics. Students will be using Nearpod, an interactive platform throughout the live lessons. Students will be provided with several different options for homework every week which include visual, real world and concrete assignments.
