Class Experience
This class is taught in English.
Learning Objectives Day 1 - Describing Part-to-Part Relationships Describe ratio relationships between two quantities using informal language. Use models to represent relationships between quantities. Analyze how a change in a quantity affects a part-to-part relationship. Day 2 - Using Ratio Notation Use the notation of ratio language to describe relationships between two quantities. Day 3 - Equivalent Ratios Analyze patterns in a table of equivalent ratios. Find missing values in a table using ratio reasoning. Day 4 - Equivalent Ratios in Measurement Identify equivalent ratios in measurements. Analyze patterns of equivalent ratios in measurement. Day 5 - Understanding Unit Rates Find unit rates. Day 6 - Comparing Ratios Compare ratios using different strategies. Day 7 - Measurements in the Customary System Convert units of measurement in the customary system. Solve real-world problems by converting customary measurement units. Day 8 - Measurements in the Metric System Convert units of measurement in the metric system. Solve real-world problems by converting metric measurement units. Day 9 - Solving Speed Problems Find time given distance and speed. Find distance given time and speed. Compare speeds. Day 10 - Unit Pricing Find unit prices. Solve unit rate problems involving unit pricing. Day 11 - Unit Test A comprehensive test on all topics. To be completed during class. Scores are provided right after taking the test.
The worksheet can be complete during class, if time permits. Otherwise, the learner can complete the worksheet as homework.
Learners should have access to a printer in order to print guided notes and worksheets. Additionally, learners will need to have a pencil with eraser and scratch paper if needed.
There will be a comprehensive assessment at the end of the course. The assessment will be given online.
