We will be meeting 5 times a week for one and a half hours a day to cover and review sixth grade English and Science standards. We are excited to offer this pod opportunity to really get to know our families and learners. These pods are capped at eight learners to ensure small group instruction and interaction. *English Language Arts / ELA: We will cover the 6th grade ELA standards through fun activities like: - Character Analysis of comic book superheroes and villains through classical literature - Dungeons and Dragons role play with writing tasks being required to level up their characters and get equipment - Fan fiction writing - and More! *Science: We will cover the 6th grade Science standards. All Labs will be online/no supplies needed: - Middle School Appropriate Chemistry - Superhero Science: Study the Real Science behind Superhero and Villain powers - Human Anatomy and Physiology - Force and Motion > introducing motion, relative motion, speed, and velocity. Graph speed, understand acceleration, force, net force, and friction. Roller coaster physics. - Newton's Laws and Energy > Analyze 1st-3rd Laws of Motion, work, power, energy, types of energy, forms of energy, energy transformation, and energy conservation. - Electricity and Magnetism > Electrical charges, electrical fields, charge build up, static discharge, conductors and insulators, types of circuits, magnetism, and magnetic fields - and More!
