- Learners will write a work of creative fiction over this 6-week course, and they will learn how to proofread and edit their own work, and how to push through any writer's block that they may encounter. - Learners will practice reading, writing, vocabulary, spelling, grammar, listening, speaking, and pronunciation.
I am a native English speaker with a 150-hour TESOL qualification from Arizona State University and post-graduate qualifications in Applied Linguistics from Monash University. I am also a lawyer in Australia and I homeschool my own children, therefore writing, speaking, and teaching clearly have been a part of my life for many years, and now I am also applying these skills to teaching others. Other applicable courses that I have completed that pertain to this class include: - Reason and Persuasion: Thinking Through Three Dialogues By Plato; - Technology and Ethics; - ADHD: Everyday Strategies for Elementary Students; - The Clinical Psychology of Children and Young People; - Everyday Parenting: The ABCs of Child Rearing; - A Brief History of Humankind.
Learners will need paper and pens or pencils to write with, or a word processor to type with, in order to complete tasks.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
