In this interactive 6 week, 1 time per week course, students will learn to speak, read, and write in Spanish in a fun and engaging manner! This is part 2 of the Spanish 1 beginner level course. The following topics will be covered weekly. Week 1 - Review of concepts from Spanish 1 course Week 2 - The Seasons & Weather Week 3 - Favorite Activities Week 4 - Days, Months, & Telling Time Week 5 - Daily Routine Week 6 - Los Animales The course will be taught in an interactive way using slides, games, songs, chants, dialogues, props, and skits. I scaffold instruction in such a way that students learn new information each week, while building upon, and reviewing, previously learned content! Within the topics, students will learn various grammar structures including present tense verb conjugations. Students will also learn to read and write in the target language. Reading will take place through students reading passages aloud for fluency and pronunciation practice. Reading comprehension will occur through question and answer activities after reading material in the target language. For writing in the target language, students will create a journal in Spanish. We will use a writing process with graphic organizers that will increase student use of vocabulary and elaboration.

Students will learn to speak, read, and write about various topics in Spanish expanding on what they learned in the Spanish 1 course.
