US Grade 5 - 6
In this lesson the students will learn how to divide mixed number fractions. This class is good for students that are in the 5th and 6th grade. The students in this class should know the multiplication facts in order to be successful. The students should also know how to solve basic division problems. The class will begin with a review of the multiplication facts. Each student will be given an opportunity to answer a basic multiplication problem. Next the terms simplest form and reciprocal will be discussed and defined. Then using the Zoom whiteboard I will demonstrate how to solve a dividing mixed number fraction problem using the I do, we do, you do strategy. The students will then be given many opportunities to demonstrate understanding of the skill by completing additional problems on the whiteboard. Students will also enter answers to the problems in the chat box for me to check.
