US Grade 5 - 6
Intermediate Level
In this class we will spend 30 minutes 3 times a week for 3 weeks reviewing things that were taught during 5th grade in both ELA and Math to make sure we keep our brains sharp. We will also go over a bit of things that students will begin to learn in 6th grade to help build confidence as they walk into school for the next year. I will have some fun science or just get outdoors things that can be done with family during days off but will not be required. We will go over everything as a class working on each small section of things together. I will share my screen for the reading comprehension so the students can read and see the passage to answer the questions, writing math problems on the board and will have other ways of going over each section together.
Learning Goals
During this class the goal is to maintain our knowledge of math and ELA already learned during 5th grade and to begin to see concepts that we will learn in 6th grade. I don't expect the children to be proficient in anything they will be learning the next school year, my goal is that when they see it they remember hearing about it and it isn't such a scary concept in a larger class setting.

Hi my name is Cassi Gardei. I am a mother of 4 awesome kids, 1 girl and 3 boys. I was a preschool teacher for 6 years in a brick and mortar school and was a professional driving instructor for the state of California for 4 years until Covid hit. I have been working with Outschool since Covid started and am a paraeducator for my local school district. Working with children is my passion and helping them learn and understand everything in new and exciting ways, especially with music for the younger kiddos. I have a bacheolors degree in Mild to Moderate Special Education.
I am looking forward to working with your kids in many areas. My favorite subjects were math and science growing up but I teach a multitude of classes from cooking to preschool to core subjects and even Kahoot games. Please do not hesitate to ask me anything, anytime, it comes straight to my phone and I will respond as soon as I can. If you are interested in a class but dont see it on schedule please reach out to me. I also gladly work with groups and will do private tutoring and classes.
