This class is part of a series of classes meant to provide opportunities for students to review and practice vocabulary concepts typically taught in fifth grade, specifically in regards to prefixes and suffixes. Learners will be given guided practice opportunities to determine meaning of words with specific suffixes and prefixes. They will then be given the opportunity to apply their learning to parts of speech, analogies, and sentences. Below is a schedule of concepts for this class. •Day One: Prefixes pre-, re-, sub- •Day Two: Prefixes mis-, un-, dis-, in-, im- and non- •Day Three: Suffixes -ful, -less, -able, -ible •Day Four: Identification and Application of words with prefixes and suffixes using word meaning, part of speech, analogies, and sentences. Please note that this is a multi-day class with a set schedule. Please review the entire schedule before enrolling, as missed classes will not be rescheduled or refunded. Thank you!

Hello! I have been teaching in the public school setting for the past fifteen years, and tutoring privately for the past six years. I have worked with students ranging from kindergarten to eighth grade in math, reading, writing mechanics, American History, and beginning Spanish. I especially enjoy working with students in small groups or individually, and have recently developed skills as an online educator due to school closures. When I'm not teaching, I enjoy watching television and movies, and traveling with my family.
