This class is part of a series of classes meant to provide opportunities for students to review and practice vocabulary concepts typically taught in fifth grade, specifically in regards to prefixes and suffixes. Learners will be given guided practice opportunities to determine meaning of words with specific suffixes and prefixes. They will then be given the opportunity to apply their learning to parts of speech, analogies, and sentences. Below is a schedule of concepts for this class. •Day One: Prefixes pre-, re-, sub- •Day Two: Prefixes mis-, un-, dis-, in-, im- and non- •Day Three: Suffixes -ful, -less, -able, -ible •Day Four: Identification and Application of words with prefixes and suffixes using word meaning, part of speech, analogies, and sentences.
