US Grade 5
Every child needs something different in order to be successful. During our first session together, the 5th grader and parent will join Ms. Emily to talk about what is a challenge in school. Together we will determine what needs to be worked on. Then we will create a consistent schedule that works for everyone involved and tailor to your learner's learning to what they need. Topics that have been worked on in the past include: Main Idea Theme Text Structure Poetry Literary Devices Inferencing Author's Purpose Point of View Vocabulary Context Clues Greek & Latin Roots Homophones Grammar in Writing & Reading and many more! We will focus on what your 5th grader needs in order to succeed.
Learning Goals
Students will improve their reading comprehension, fluency, and accuracy and have a deep understanding for reading.

Paper, pencil, coloring utensils, and digital access.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

Nebraska Teaching Certificate in Elementary Education
Ms. Emily is a lead 5th grade teacher in her school. She has a masters degree in Literacy from the University of Nebraska-Omaha. She LOVES to read and promotes reading in her classroom.
