Class experience
In this 6 week semester course, students will be taught 5th grade content, based on Next Generation Science Standards. As a previous elementary teacher, I have experience teaching these standards and planning/structuring them in a way that flows and is engaging for students. My goal is to make this course student-centered, hands-on, and inquiry-based. I believe students learn best by DOING! Students will have the opportunity each week to participate in a hands-on activity/experiment. We will...
Students will: *Develop a model to describe that matter is made of particles too small to be seen. *Make observations and measurements to identify materials based on their properties. *Conduct an investigation to determine whether the mixing of two or more substances results in new substances. *Support an argument that the gravitational force exerted by Earth on objects is directed down.
Learners will be sent a detailed supply list broken down by class upon enrollment.
Students will be asked to used Kahoot and Nearpod in some classes. Please be sure this is ok before enrolling.
