I have taught math in a traditional 5th grade classroom for more than 15 years.
There will be no formal homework, but students will be given practice problems they can complete if they choose. They will also be given a preview of the next week's skill so they can prepare for class if they choose.

I would suggest the students have a math notebook or folder to take and keep the handouts. Students can save this information to review and refer to in future classes. I will provide handouts and printables as needed for each class. A dry erase board and marker would be great for working out problems to show. If that is not available please have paper and a pencil.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
Progress will be assessed informally through written work, games, and observation.
50 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
I will post optional Youtube videos to watch prior to class in order to review the concepts. Youtube does require a google account to watch videos. This is an optional part of the class and it will be no problem to continue with the course if you choose not to watch the videos,
