In this ongoing class students will review 5th grade math concepts based on the common core standards. Students will then practice solving problems and doing calculations using various methods. It is not required for students to attend every week but can drop in as needed to practice various skills. Students should already be familiar with these concepts. This is a class to review and/or gain further understanding of math concepts they have already learned. Students will begin each class with...

I have taught math in a traditional 5th grade classroom for more than 15 years.
There will be no formal homework, but students will be given practice problems they can complete if they choose. They will also be given a preview of the next week's skill so they can prepare for class if they choose.
1 file available upon enrollmentI would suggest the students have a math notebook or folder to take and keep the handouts. Students can save this information to review and refer to in future classes. I will provide handouts and printables as needed for each class. A dry erase board and marker would be great for working out problems to show. If that is not available please have paper and a pencil.
Progress will be assessed informally through written work, games, and observation.
50 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
I will post optional Youtube videos to watch prior to class in order to review the concepts. Youtube does require a google account to watch videos. This is an optional part of the class and it will be no problem to continue with the course if you choose not to watch the videos,
