Class Experience

Circle Time and Calendar are great ways for early elementary aged learners to review math skills and learn about their peers but upper elementary learners usually do not get the same type of experience and interaction. In this calendar type course, your learner will learn and review various 5th grade math skills all revolving around a "number of the day" while building friendships with their fellow learners.

Spiraling can be a great way for students to continuously practice skills that they have learned. This class will start with a review of 4th grade skills and new 5th grade skill each week. That 5th grade skill will then be spiraled into future classes. Your learner will have multiple opportunities to practice each skill. I will also include a game/fun activity each week (guess my number, math riddles, multiplication war etc.) This class will give multiple opportunities to learn the skills, so you can join at anytime!

Providing positive reinforcement is very important to me while I am teaching my classes! I want students to feel successful and be able to practice skills in a positive and fun environment! I will give your learner specific and positive feedback so that they can fix mistakes if needed and celebrate their successes! My classes are very interactive and I give all learners multiple opportunities in class to share their ideas/answer questions!
