In this class we will practice grammar, reading and comprehension skills in a fun and engaging way. There will be a grammar topic each week, we will practice reading and comprehension skills with reading passages and novels.
Class experience
US Grade 5 - 6
This class will be a wonderful combination of fifth grade reading and grammar standards with tons of comprehension and writing skills. This class will be structured so your can join and leave at any time along the way- however this class tends to stay full with the same students each week. We will begin each day with our grammar skill and once a week play a game to help practice this skill. We will spend the rest of class learning and practicing a reading skill. In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
Students will use Nearpod in this class, Nearpod is a safe and COPPA approved site. Nearpod allows me to give students practice pages that I have made - while they work, I can see their work. This allows me to see if the class is understanding each topic and allows me to see any mistakes they are making. Students will also use Blooket - to practice skills learned in class We will use a variety of writing resources such as story jumper. All sites will be private, allowing only the students and myself to see.
