Description
Class Experience
We will cover the following topics: an introduction to fractions, mixed numbers, and improper fractions; converting between fractions, mixed numbers, and improper fractions; addition, multiplication, subtraction and division of fractions. The goal is for students to understand each of these processes conceptually, and then move into fluent problem solving.
There will be optional practice problems assigned to students at the end of every class.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
With such a small group of students, we will be able to assess student mastery as we go and make adjustments to the course as needed.
55 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
