Athletes and physically active pre-teens generally need to follow the same healthy eating guidelines as anyone else, but they need to pay special attention to what they eat and drink while they’re in training both before and after game time. Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
This course will be referring to the healthy eating guidelines established in the United States and Canada and will be inclusive to learners with different dietary needs. While the food guidelines are only "guidelines", it is not always suitable for everyone with certain food intolerances or those that different dietary protocols. Please let me know if your learner follows a specific dietary protocol. Students will learn how to read a food label as outlined by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
