5 Stars AP Music Theory by Experienced AP Collegeboard Certified Educator Part 2
Class experience
In this 5 week course, students will begin to delve more into the AP Music Theory Course to prepare for the AP Music Theory Exam. See below for weekly listed topics. Students that complete this class will be ready to move on to Part III of our AP Music Theory Course. Topics covered, are: Week 1: Aural Skills and Error Detection; Roman Numeral Analysis in Major and Minor Keys. Week 2: 4-Part Writing in Root Position Week 3: Figured Bass Notation and 4-Part Writing with Inversions (FRQ 5)....
Students will focus on aural skills and part writing that is embedded within the AP Music Theory Exam. Students that have a solid foundation of topics covered in my AP Music Theory Class I, may opt to take this one. Send me a message to determine which class your child should enter. This course will be taught two separate times: for students that want to jump directly into Part II, and for those students that will want this class after taking Part I.
Named Innovative Teaching Specialist of The Year, and earned Master Teacher status, Dr. Beth Stutzmann, has designed and written the AP Music Theory curricula and online courses for the States of California, and Georgia. Her students consistently earn 4 and 5 Star Ratings on the AP Music Theory Exam. She has tutored over 2000 hours preparing students for the AP Music Theory Exam, is AP CollegeBoard Certified, State-Certified, and has the needed materials to teach it consistently well. Dr. Beth Stutzmann, has designed and written the AP Music Theory curricula and online courses for the States of California, and Georgia. Dr. Stutzmann was the Director of Bands for ten years, at Southern Polytechnic State University in Marietta, Georgia where she received the Outstanding Faculty Award in 2011 and Governor’s Teaching Fellow in 2012. She is a graduate of The Boston Conservatory of Music (BMEd); earned a master's degree from Oklahoma City University in Horn performance, and in 2010 was awarded her Doctor of Musical Arts in Music Education degree from Shenandoah University, Winchester, VA. She teaches music theory; music appreciation courses; and conducts. Her private studio of students have earned entry to Eastman School of Music with $100,000.000 scholarship; and full-tuition scholarship to Oklahoma City University. Her other music-major students have been accepted to New England Conservatory of Music; University of Hartford; and James Madison University.
