5 Day TEEN Intensive Dance Camp! (Ages 13-18)

A longer version of my popular 3 day camp! In this TEEN intensive dance camp, learners will take fun and challenging classes in a variety of styles including contemporary, jazz, jazz funk/ hip hop, flexibility/ strength, and improvisation.

Class Experience

Let's dance together! In this longer version of my popular 3 day dance camp, teens will get to explore various styles of dance including contemporary, jazz funk/ hip hop, jazz, flexibility/ strength, and improvisation. Dance classes will include a warm up, stretch, technique, and choreography. I welcome dancers of any level. My goal is to create an inviting and fun environment where students are free to express themselves through movement. Each class will begin with a warm up, stretch, and conditioning exercises. Then, we will move into some technique/ improvisation exercises. Lastly, students will get to learn a fun dance. 


The schedule will be as follows:
Day 1- Jazz
Day 2- Flexibility/ Strength 
Day 3- Hip Hop/ Jazz Funk
Day 4- Contemporary
Day 5- Improvisation

There will be periodic check-ins throughout class where learners will be given the opportunity to discuss how certain exercises felt on their body. I believe that this is a crucial step in helping students improve their dancing abilities and retain information. 

We will be working on strength, stretching , flexibility, choreography retention, muscle memory, and performance. At the end of this intensive dance camp, students will leave feeling energized and challenged! After each class is over, students are encouraged to film themselves doing the choreography and send it to me via the classroom chat option. I will then send them back personalized corrections. While this is not mandatory, it can be a great way to receive individualized feedback!

Other Details

Parental Guidance
This class involves physical activities that require adequate space to move around freely, proper footwear, and plenty of water to stay hydrated. Parental or Guardian supervision is recommended.
Supply List
Students should have a clear space to dance, free from any hazards. Students may wear dance shoes of their preference, (they may choose to go barefoot for the warm up and stretching portion of class). Have a full bottle of water handy!

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

I am excited to bring dance and movement classes to Outschool. Currently, I still train in all styles of dance 10+ hours every week. I have 9 years of experience dancing and teaching children ages 3-19 years old. I look forward to sharing my passion for teaching and my love of the arts to everyone here on Outschool. 

I will be bringing jazz, jazz technique, flexibility, hip hop, jazz funk, contemporary, and improvisation classes to this platform. 

In my classes, I emphasize the importance of proper body alignment, technique, and dance fundamentals. I also pride myself in embracing each learners' personal style and unique way of movement. My classes allow for a safe place to express individuality while fostering a connection among learners, all while having fun.
