Daily Circle Time Routine: At the beginning of each class we will sing our "Hello" song and greet each student by name. This will help us become familiar with each other from the very beginning. -Calendar Time: We will then sing our calendar songs and talk about the Day of the Week, Month of the Year and Season. -Story Time: we will read our story of the day which will coincide with our theme of the week and our lesson for the day. -Music and Movement: we will take a brain break and...
This class is taught in English.
-Order of the Days of the Week and phrases such as Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow -Months of the Year -Seasons -Weather -Numbers 1-31 in English and Spanish (practiced through calendar time) -Uppercase and Lowercase letters -Basic letter sounds -Shapes and how to draw them -Color recognition -Name recognition and writing practice -Social Studies concepts (where do I live?, community helpers, cultures from around the world, holidays, etc.) -Art concepts with focus on various artists per week (painting, cutting, gluing, drawing, etc.) -Listening and comprehension through story time -Social skills through sharing and discussing
I have been teaching Pre-K for 10 years and have an A.A. in Early Childhood Education. I am also pursuing my B.S. in Elementary Education.
I will include a worksheet for the children for extra practice of our skills for parents to use to their discretion.
Basic Supplies Needed in each class: Paper Scissors Glue Crayons Markers Paint and Paintbrushes Play Dough *All supplies will be indicated on the days lesson
No formal assessments will be done, however I will be available for parent conferences upon request.
