Class Experience

In this one time math class, students will practice rounding to the nearest tens, hundreds, and thousands place. First, we will do a quick warm up review of place value up to the thousands place. Then, Brody the Bear will teach us a fun saying that will help learners determine whether to round up or round down according to the underlined place value. Lastly, we will have fun practicing rounding.

I have two years of teaching 3rd grade and math was one of my favorite subjects to teach. The saying that I will be teaching in this class was a teaching strategy that my 5th grade math teacher emphasized when I was learning how to round decimals. After 17 years, I still remember the catchy saying and have taught it to my former students.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
