In this 3 week 2x a week 4th/5th Reading class, students will learn 5 types of Text Structure and how to find the Text Structure of a passage. Perfect for homeschooling families, practice and review, or remediation for struggling readers.
Class experience
Does your child struggle to understand the Text Structure of a story is? Then this class is for you! An interactive presentation, cool visual aides, interesting stories, and fun hand motions teach your learner what each structure is and how to tell the TS of a story! In this "Snippet Series" mini-course, our class will meet for 3 weeks, twice a week to engage in Reading instruction on Text Structure! Students can often get confused as to how to find Text Structure or what type of Text...
Students will learn the 5 Text Structures and how to determine the Text Structure of a passage.
I have a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and have been a teacher for 19 years. I specifically have taught 3rd-5th ELA for 16 years. I trained in Brain Based strategies for 5 years and utilized those strategies in my classroom for 9 years. Over the past 19 years, I have completed hundreds of hours of Professional Development and research in areas such as: Reading Intervention, Student Growth and Achievement, and Learning Disabilities.
There will be a new PDF available for download before each class. Colored Pencils are needed as well.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
