US Grade 4 - 5
In this class, students will review core concepts in 4th grade math in order to prepare for 5th grade math. Many topics introduced in 4th grade and higher levels of math are necessary for other math topics, and having a weak foundation in core skills can cause frustration and struggle as students progress into harder arithmetic. This class will review key math skills that will be critical for 5th grade and beyond, including multiplication and division, order of operations, fractions, and elementary geometry skills.
Learning Goals
Students will learn methods for multiplying and dividing larger numbers.
Students will gain fluency in fraction basics and learn to find equivalent fractions and compare fractions.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Bachelor's Degree from University of Alabama at Birmingham
I'm an accountant with a teaching background who enjoys learning and strives to foster a love of learning in students through games and interactive learning. I believe students learn best when they are having fun and interacting with the material.
I have always had a passion for learning and have diverse interests. I'm especially passionate about building strong foundations in language and math. I believe confidence in these two areas will give students the tools to learn almost anything they'd like to in life.
As an accountant, I have expertise in mathematics and finance. I'm an Enrolled Agent and believe everyone should be proficient in budgeting and personal finance. I believe a strong foundation in math is important to develop advanced skills with numbers later in life. Likewise, strong grammar and language skills will help students communicate effectively and give them the tools to learn anything they'd like to. I'm also passionate about culture and language and have formally studied nine languages, including studying abroad. I want to share the world with students through language and exploration.
I hope to share my love of learning with each of my students as they explore their personal interests. In doing so, students will become lifelong learners and continue to grow in and out of the classroom.
