US Grade 4
This will be a fun and engaging review of standards taught in fourth grade. Each week we will review a new standard, I like to share my screen and do an example problem first, then practice a few together. Once they seem comfortable I will have them try a few problems on their own. I like to use Nearpod because I can see their work and see how to help anyone who is struggling. Once I feel everyone is comfortable we will play a game reviewing what we just learned. I will attach a practice page after each class, so students can practice at home if they choose. I always allow students to stay after class for five minutes if they are needing help with that topic. Week 1: 6/6 Addition and Subtraction of multi digit numbers + Perimeter Week 2: 6/13 Adding/subtract Fractions Week 3: 6/21 Adding mixed numbers Week 4: 6/27 Area and Perimeter Week 5: Multiplication of multi digit numbers/Time Week 6: GCF and Reducing Fractions Week 7: Simple Division/ Prime Factors Week8: Long division/ Intro to variables Week9: Algebraic expressions - solving variables Week 10: Algebraic expressions - solving variables Week 11: Orders of operations Week 12: Order of operations part 2 (Intro to exponents)

Students will use Nearpod in this class, Nearpod is a safe and COPPA approved site. Nearpod allows me to give students practice pages that I have made - while they work, I can see their work. This allows me to see if the class is understanding each topic and allows me to see any mistakes they are making.
We will also use Blooket in this class.

Hello! My name is Mrs. Neal! I am a licensed teacher in the state of Indiana. I have been teaching on Outschool for five years, teaching 3rd - 6th reading/LA and Math! I taught 3rd grade for 7 years, and loved every second of it! I always knew I had a passion for math, but becoming a teacher taught me that I also have a love and passion for reading and teaching kids to love reading! My goal is always to create a classroom where students feel valued, successful, wanted, and smart! I keep my classroom positive and expect kindness and respect from all students.
I am also a mother of three, two boys ages 18 and 7 and a girl age 14. I did step away from the classroom four years ago in order to stay home with my kids. We live in Indiana during the summer and go to Florida for the winter months - I love showing my students the ocean and allowing them to see what we have seen on our adventures during the week.
I am very excited to meet you and your student in class!
