Description

Class Experience

Students will learn to use their understanding of place value, adding, and subtracting to help them multiply and divide larger numbers. Students will watch the modeling of the instructor and will practice and ask any questions needed to help clarify their understanding and to help master skills and concepts.
I have been teaching 19 years. I am certified to teach Pre-K through 5th grade. I have my Specialist degree in Early Childhood Education. I have taught all subjects including math. Since many students seem to struggle with math (like I did in school), I try to make it fun and easy to understand. I start with the basics and them move up, as with anything, the foundation is crucial.
There will be a quick homework activity after class to help master skills and concepts. Students will also work on min-projects and a larger final project at the end of the semester.
Supplies from Part 1 will be used in Part 2 pencils scissors scotch tape Composition book- this will be our INB (Interactive Notebook) paper for working out problems (could be a spiral notebook or notebook with loose leaf paper) printer for printing out assignments, homework, and pages for the INB. Index cards for fast facts
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
Progress will monitored at each class. Quizzes, assessments, and projects will be used to check for mastery.
1 hour 30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
Students will be required to use scissors to cut out INB pieces and tape them into the composition notebook.
