Is your child a 4th grader? Join us in our on-going 4th grade math course. This extra support will give your learner confidence with their math skills and will show them they CAN do math and can LOVE math! Learners will strengthen their skills with all fourth grade math skills. This support will give learners more confidence with their math skills. Because this class is taught with the goal of building a DEEP UNDERSTANDING of math concepts (vs. memorize and repeat algorithms,) students will retain these skills which is crucial as they move through higher levels of mathematics.
I have been teaching elementary school for 24 years, 22 years in 4th grade. I have a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education with an additional 30 hour concentration in the sciences in the state of Ohio and a Masters Degree in Education plus an additional 45 graduate credit hours in math, literacy and curriculum. I have taught language arts, social studies, math, science, and STEM lab. I currently teach 4th grade math and science. Typically, 98%-100% of my students pass our standardized state test at the end of 4th grade, the Ohio AIR Test.

We use whiteboard.fi and Nearpod in this class for students to show their work and receive feedback. There is no account needed to access these sites. I will send a private link in the chat and students accept, enter their name and they are in. Other material/information will be screen shared (Powerpoints and Google Slides.) Learners will not need to open or access the Powerpoints or Google slides. I will share these with learners by sharing my screen.
