🎉 New to Outschool? Use code COURTNEY2020 to save $20 🎉 🔴 I strongly recommend getting "The Ultimate Fourth Grade Math Workbook" by IXL. We'll focus on the major concepts, not the entire book. However, students can successfully navigate the course and complete the activities even without the workbook. ⚠ This is asynchronous course is designed for individuals who respond well to independent learning structures and /or have accountability support available to ensure participation. If your learner requires more structured support or prefer a more collaborative experience, I highly recommend considering enrollment in my LIVE, synchronous course where your learner will benefit from real-time instruction and accountability. The Ultimate Grade 4 Math Workbook features must-know math skills for 4th graders, ages 9-10. Help your child learn and practice essential math topics, such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, measurement, algebra, and geometry! WHY IXL: IXL has been a trusted leader in math education since 1998. Used by more than 14 million students worldwide, IXL is a provider of comprehensive, curriculum-aligned K-12 math content that is proven to help every learner succeed. ✅ This is one of the best math books for 4th graders, as it extensively covers multiplication and division including multiplying by 0 through 12, multiplying and dividing multiples of 10, multi-digit multiplication, properties of multiplication, modeling multiplication and division, dividing by 1 through 12, estimating quotients, multi-digit division, division with remainders, properties of division, and divisibility. Fourth graders will find fraction help including modeling fractions, identifying equivalent fractions, comparing fractions, finding the least common denominator, ordering fractions, adding and subtracting fractions, converting between mixed numbers and improper fractions, adding and subtracting mixed numbers with regrouping, multiplying fractions, mixed fraction operations, and understanding and comparing equivalent fractions and decimals. 🔴 This class will be conducted entirely online. Each week, students will complete activities designed to enhance their math skills and knowledge. Interactive tasks will be submitted to the teacher, who will provide feedback through messages, recordings, and other formats. A significant advantage of this flexible class is that learners can take as much time as they need to review the activities. The order in which the topics are covered is subject to change at the instructors discretion but this will not affect the curriculum covered. ● Class Structure/Experience: Each week, students will learn and practice new concepts. On Fridays, I will review their submissions and provide individualized feedback to ensure they are mastering the material. ● Teaching Style: Student-Centered! Expect numerous interactive activities, games, and discussions. Research shows that a student-centered instructional model is essential for effective learning! ● Interaction Level: Medium to High! Students will have the opportunity to engage with me via their learner chat. Ensuring the safety of my learners is my top priority. All interactive activities are carefully selected to maximize learning while maintaining a safe environment.
