Class Experience

US Grade 4
This class is taught in a self-paced (flexible) format. There are no live meetings. 

Learners will watch a mini-lesson video (5-10 minutes) that will teach the subject of the week. After watching the instructional video, learners will complete a worksheet (2-3 pages) about the lesson of the week. The worksheet should take 20-40 minutes to complete. I will provide a complete step-by-step instructional video for the entire worksheet. You can choose to watch the entire video or skip around to certain questions for extra help or to check your own work. I will be available to answer questions via message if needed.

This class covers an entire year of 4th grade math and is broken into 4 parts. Parts can be taken in any order or simultaneously.
Part 1 - multiplication and division
Part 2 - geometry, multiples, factors, and decimals
Part 3 (This class) - fractions
Part 4 - word problems, operations, measures of central tendency (mean, median, mode)

This class will focus on fractions. We will review how to add, subtract, and multiply fractions of different formats. We will review how to convert fractions, decimals, and mixed numbers.

Part 3 Weekly Schedule:
Week 1: fractions of a number
Week 2: convert between improper fractions & mixed numbers
Week 3: convert fractions & decimals
Week 4: write fractions in lowest terms
Week 5: multiply mixed numbers by whole numbers
Week 6: add fractions with like denominators
Week 7: subtract fractions with like denominators
Week 8: add fractions with unlike denominators
Week 9: subtract fractions with unlike denominators
Week 10: add and subtract mixed numbers
Week 11: fraction word problems
Week 12: Multiples of fractions: find the missing numbers

Students will improve their understanding of 4th grade level math including adding, subtracting, and multiplying fractions in various forms.

Convert Fractions & Decimals
 Students will learn how to convert between fractions & decimals. 
Lesson 4:
Fractions in Lowest Terms
 Students will learn how to write fractions in the lowest and most simplified terms.

Supply List
A two-three page printable worksheet will be provided each week. Students can print the worksheet, write on them electronically using a pdf writer, or write the problems on a separate piece of paper.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
