Class Experience

My math education exceeds college level physics however I have a passion for instilling the love of math in young children. I have taught math up through high school geometry. The most important thing I have learned over my years of teaching math is that all children can learn math; it is the teacher's responsibility to figure out how they learn and teach in a way that promotes understanding and confidence.
Practice problems on iXL will be given. These should be completed by the due date to reinforce learning. Homework for the following week and/or assessments will be given at the end of the week. All homework to be graded must be turned in as a PDF. Teacher will be posting related workbook exercises for those families choosing to purchase the optional workbook (link below).
Students should come to class with a dedicated spiral notebook and pencils. Calculators are not allowed in class. If you would like to keep printed copies of the board notes and class handouts, I recommend using a 2" three-ring binder.

Families wishing to purchase the optional workbook can do so here :
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
A grade report will be sent home at the end of weeks 4, 8, 12, and 16. Parents can review their students grades anytime on the Schoology page.
2 hours 45 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
