Students will use the four operations with whole numbers to solve problems. Students will gain familiarity with factors and multiples. Students will generate and analyze patterns. Students will extend understanding of fraction equivalence and ordering.
Homework Offered
I will provide 2-5 example problems for homework after each class. This is voluntary and will be reviewed at the beginning of the next class. If a student is struggling, they can post their concerns on the classroom wall for more clarification. Homework should not take more than 10 minutes per assignment.Assessments Offered
I will assess students in class based on their participation and homework (if they do their homework). Students will also have occasional quizzes. I can also provide a progress report at the end of the course. Please let me know if you would like a letter grade for this class.Grades Offered
Students need to have taken 3rd grade math or have been tested on a 4th grade level.
Students should have a math journal to keep their notes in and solve example problems. A small marker board and/or some sheet protectors, along with some dry erase markers would be beneficial for class participation, but is not required. A printer would also be beneficial for notes, but is not required. No textbooks or subscriptions are required.
